  About Illini After Five Rotary
   
  The Champaign-Urbana Illini After Five Rotary club was chartered on February 23, 2005. Illini After Five is a member club of Rotary International, which is made up of approximately 1.2 million Rotarians who  belong to more than 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas.  Illini After Five Rotary is part of Rotary District 6490, which is in east central Illinois.

Members of other Rotary clubs are welcome to join us when in the area. Illini After Five Rotary regularly meets for dinner on Thursday's at Kennedy's at Stone Creek 2560 Stone Creek Blvd Urbana, IL 61802, in Urbana, Illinois.

OBJECT OF ROTARY

The object of rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

bullet The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
 
bullet High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying by each Rotarian of his occupation as an opportunity to service society;
 
bullet The application of the ideal of service by every Rotarian to his personal, business and community life;
 
bullet The advancement of international understanding, good will, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

ROTARY IS

bullet ROTARY is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will and peace in the world.
 
bullet ROTARY is the world's first service club. The first Rotary Club was founded in Chicago, Illinois on February 23, 1905.
 
bullet ROTARIANS meet weekly for fellowship and interesting and informative programs dealing with topics of local and global importance. Membership reflects a wide cross section of community representation.
 
bullet ROTARIANS plan and carry out a remarkable variety of humanitarian, educational and cultural exchange programs that touch people's lives in their local community and our world community.
 
bullet ROTARY is the Rotary Foundation, which each year provides some $90 million for international scholarships, cultural exchanges and humanitarian projects large and small that improve the quality of life for millions of people. Rotary is widely regarded as the world's largest private provider of international educational scholarships.
